VEVOR ratcheting PVC pipe cutter with SK5 blade
STEP 03 · CUT CLEAN

Ratcheting Pipe Cutter

Push-fit joints only seal on a clean, square cut — this is the tool that guarantees one. The ratchet does the squeezing for you up to 2.5" O.D., and the SK5 blade swaps out when it eventually dulls. Handles PEX, PVC and CPVC.

STEP 04 · BEND & SUPPORT

PEX Bend Supports, 20-Pack

Common Questions

Yes — brass push-fit fittings are code-approved in most US jurisdictions and rated for full household water pressure, hot and cold. The seal depends on one thing: a clean, square cut fully seated into the fitting. That's why the kit pairs them with a ratcheting cutter. They can also be removed and reused with an inexpensive disconnect clip.

PEX is the standard material for potable water lines in modern US homes — it replaced copper in most new construction years ago. It handles hot and cold supply, doesn't corrode or scale, and tolerates freezing better than rigid pipe. As with any plumbing work, check your local code before closing up walls.

A typical kitchen plus one bath re-pipe uses 100–300 ft including hot and cold runs. The 1000 ft coil covers a whole-house repipe, or a kitchen and bath now with plenty left for the laundry room or a hose bib later. If you only have one small project, the 300 ft budget option above is the right size.

The minimum bend radius for 1/2" PEX is about 5 inches — bend it tighter and it kinks, which restricts flow and weakens the pipe. That's exactly what the bend supports are for: they hold a proper 90° curve at wall plates and cabinet entries, so you make turns without an elbow fitting.

For the pipe work itself, no — tubing, fittings, cutter and bend supports are the complete list. You'll still want basic carpentry tools you likely already own: a drill for running lines through studs, a hammer for the nail-tab supports, and a flashlight. No torch, solder, crimp rings or crimping tool required.
